Negotiate when a creator quotes above the fair range
Anyone who has received a rate card and felt they had nothing to push back with.
The insight report gives three things to negotiate with: the fair range with its basis (tier rate, engagement multiplier, branded performance, audience geography), the branded-versus-organic engagement ratio, and the CPM at the centre. If branded posts perform like organic ones and the audience is in your market, a quote at the high end is defensible; otherwise counter at the centre, offer a bonus tied to beating their average reel views, and say why. Creators respect a number with a reason.
You need
- The creator's quote
- Their insight report
Step by step in Zaver
- 1
Compare quote to range
Under the high end: accept or trim. Above it: continue.
- 2
Read the basis
Does engagement or audience geography justify a premium? The basis line says.
- 3
Check branded performance
Branded vs organic engagement under 0.7× means sponsorships land weaker with this audience; that is your argument.
- 4
Counter
Offer the centre, plus a bonus of 15 to 25% if the post beats their average reel views by 30%. Include the CPM you are paying elsewhere.
- 5
Close or walk
If they hold the quote and the basis does not support it, the lookalike playbook finds the next creator in an hour.

Questions
What if the creator asks how I got the number?
Say so: a benchmark from follower tier, engagement against similar accounts and audience location. Transparency usually shortens the negotiation.
